Isiolo traders accuse County Government of destroying their stalls in a night raid
Isiolo traders have accused the County Government of destroying their sources of income through a night out invasion by County workers. The market stalls were destroyed over night by County workers a move that angered the traders who have barricaded Isiolo-Moyale road since morning. “This is inhumane and we condemn this move which comes at a time when we are in a difficult time following the COVID-19 crisis,” complained one trader.
The Governor who arrived at the scene found it difficult to address the crowd who shouted at him. The traders had no place to carry out their business as the new market is yet to be completed and today’s action will make their situation even more difficult going forward. The traders are over 100 and now have no place to carry out their business.
