The team will carry out soil analysis to determine whether the contractor used substandard materials during the construction of the runway. The Airport which cost taxpayers a whooping Kshs. 3.1 billion has not been functional since its launch in 2018. The Government has also released funds for its expansion from 1.4km to 3km to enable large aircraft to land.
The residents have been complaining over the multi-billion project that is yet to bring any meaningful benefits to the people of Isiolo three years down the line. The Airport lies idle with no flights prompting people to question why so much money was put into it.
