Kenya Raises Alert Over Alshabaab Attack

The government of Kenya has raised red alert flags over an imminent terror attack after intelligence by its security agencies indicated that members of the terror group Alshabbab have been sighted. After last week’s Manda Bay attack by suspected Alshabaab terrorist, the government through the DCI has asked citizens to be vigilant and avoid American affiliated businesses and centers. The places Alshabbab is reported to be targeting include the US Embassy, USAID Offices at Village Market, IMF Resident Representative Office at Delta on Menengai Road, Coca-Cola Headquarters in Upper Hill, Nairobi, BAT on Likoni Road and other US affiliated businesses and agencies including hotels and restaurants frequented by US and Western tourist, Expats and workers. Security is expected to be heightened in these places.
Alshabaab has also been reported to be planning an attack on buses plying Northern Eastern Kenya including Moyale Liner and Moyale Raha. They have attacked a communication post in Mandera’s Banisa constituency last night and destroyed a Safaricom Mast.
