Garissa County Youth Decry Unemployment
Garissa youth have yesterday taken to the airwaves moaning about unemployment accussing elected leaders of turning a blind eye to their plight. They said politicians knock on their doors when seeking for votes but turn the other way immediately they win the elections. “Politicians win elections only to spend their entire term in Nairobi instead of working for us and living amongst us” lamented many who spoke to the media.
Unemployment has been increasing over the years and devolution has not dented the rate of unemployment despite the huge funding increase to the county. The youth threatened to lead waves of street protests if their plight is not immediately addressed.
