Over 30 pilgrims will miss this year’s Hajj after they were duped by a man who allegedly disappeared with their passports together with cash amounting to Kshs. 12 million. The man identified as Abdi Noor Hassan aka Korio is believed to have signed up the Hujjajs as he presented himself as being a Hajj agent before disappearing at the 11th hour. The pilgrims, many of them elderly paid between Kshs. 350,000 to 400,000 for facilitation to travel to Makka for the for the important annual pilgrimage.
Police raided a Hotel room where they found passports for the Hujajs but no visas. Police have embarked on a man hunt in a bid to arrest the suspect believed to be from Bura Sub-county of Garissa County.
