A Tanzanian National Sentenced to Life For the Garissa University Terror Attack
A court has today sentenced Mbere Sero, a Tanzanian national to life in prison for the grisly 2015 Garissa University terrorist attack while acquiting Kenyan Sahal Diriye. Two others were sentenced to 41 years each for the commission of a terrorist act and been members of the terrorist group Alshabaab. The attack which has claimed the lives of 148 students remains the worst in the country.
The courts has ordered the setting free of Sahal Diriye who was in remand for the long period the investigation was ongoing. Sahal is expected to sue for wrongful imprisonment.
