A Woman Arrested In Eastleigh For Underage Girls’ Sexual Exploitation

Police have yesterday raided a house in Eastleigh of Nairobi County and arrested a woman infamously known as ‘VIP’ for exploiting underage girls for sex. The woman was arrested together with young girls found to be staying in the house known as Sharmahan House. The ‘VIP’ woman was said to have beaten one of the underage girls she was holding in the house that has resulted in a miscarriage. The girl was seen reeling in pain after the woman, known as ‘VIP’ allegedly kicked the 14 year old to get rid of the pregnancy. The 14 year old girl was allegedly impregnated by ‘VIP’s brother who has since fled to Sweden its alleged. Drugs and syringes have been discovered in the house suspected to have been used on the girls. The building is suspected to be a brothel where the underage girls were kept to serve men. Child of a Nomad activist Fatma Maalim called on everyone including the Scholars to address this. ”Ask the Ulamas to stop breaching in the mosques and come to the ground to tell people selling our girls to stop” said Fatma. Fatma said the house was more like a hospital with all kinds of medications and chemicals. Some of the medications were suspected to have been forced on the young girls to aid their exploitation. A resident named Amina Abdi pleaded with parents of young girls not to send their girls without an adult accompanying them. ”The security agencies must be very vigilant and not allow young girls not accompanied by a close relative to Nairobi”. ‘VIP’ was accused of trafficking young girls for sexual exploitation. Girls from far flung areas like Mandera and the refugee camps are usually exploited for sex when they arrive in Nairobi and have no relatives to stay with or look after. They are attracted by the promise of money and the provision of other luxuries.
A passport said to belong to a man from Sweden was seen and the man was alleged to have fled back to Sweden.
