Garissa County Women Rep Accusses Fafi MP of Embezzling 12 Million Madrassa Funds
Garissa Women Rep Hon Anab Subow has accused Fafi MP Hon Abdikarim Osman of misappropriating funds raised for Fafi constituency Islamic schools in a fund drive presided over by Deputy President Dr William Ruto. Mrs Subow said she has been pestered by heads of the madrassas asking where the money raised has gone as they have not received any. Mrs Subow said that besides the individual contributions from various leaders including the deputy president, the Islamic schools have each contributed shillings 200 thousand. Mrs Subow said, the sheikh are pleading that all they are now asking is the shillings 1Million they raised as institutions. ”If the rest of the money has been misappropriated, just return the 200,000 shillings each of the Ward’s Madrassas have raised, the sheikhs are asking” said the women Rep.
The women rep popularly known as Mama County by Garissa residents, has further accused the MP of sabotaging her development projects narrating how he allegedly tried to stop food aid from the Devolution Ministry. ”The relief food I have been pursuing the devolution ministry for months and has been requested by the Cabinet Secretary for release has been sabotaged by the area MP” she said. ”He said there are no people living in Degega and therefore the Women Rep has no business taking relief food there” Continued Mrs Subow. The women rep said the Fafi legislator has alleged that due to insecurity the food cannot be taken to Degega. She said the MP announced on social media that food will be distributed to Fafi Constituents when he realized that the food she was to take to the people will be leaving the depot. ”When I saw that announcement on Facebook, I asked the trucks not to leave and the food returned to the depot” She said. ”Did any one see any ration distributed? Where has the food the MP announced gone? Has he sold it?” asked the women Rep curtly.
The Fafi MP had a Facebook post on the 7th of June at 21.21 PM
