16 Senior Marsabit County Staffs Summoned By EACC

The Ethics and anti-corruption Commission has ordered 16 senior employees in Marsabit County to respond to allegations touching on their employment by the County. The 16 are alleged to possess fake academic papers and others are accused of not possessing the required qualifications.

Those expected to appear for summoning include; 14 Senior Officers, the payroll manager and the Human Resource officer. In a letter dated 6th June 2019 (shown below) and addressed to the County Secretary, EACC has ordered the officers to report in Isiolo on Monday and Tuesday to record their statements.

We spoke to a few of those expected to appear before EACC and they confirmed to us that they have received the summons and they will be in Isiolo on Monday to record their statements. The officers who requested for anonymity have insisted they have nothing to hide and will not be intimidated by the summons.

EACC has warned the officers that if they fail to honour the summons they will be liable to penal consequences which will attract a fine of Kshs. 300,000.
