Senator Dullo Accuses County Government of Using Media to Misinform the Public
Isiolo County Senator Hon. Fatuma Dullo accuses local press of misinforming the public on a recently released letter from the Treasury concerning the agreement between Isiolo County and Living Goods. The Senator has termed the narrative ran by both the Star and Standard Newspapers as cheap propaganda and lies meant to divert people’s attention from the serious legal anomalies discovered in the agreement. The Senator has faulted the County for deliberately omitting the attachments in the letter sent to the Governor and only shared the Cover Letter. “Treasury highlighted some serious concerns most of which were raised by my office but the County has consistently been shoving away my sentiments,” said the Senator.
The Senator has put to task the County Government by urging them to focus on ensuring the unsigned agreement adheres to the PFM Act, PFM (County Governments) Regulations and any other relevant law. The Senate committee on Health earlier this year gave its recommendations to the county Government in which they asked the County to rectify all the anomalies present in the agreement within three months. The County is yet to present the amended agreement factoring all the necessary corrections as required and now appears to have resolved to unnecessary media flops.
