Sheikh Cukash Calls On The County Governments to Fund Madrassas
The founding scholar of Wajir Alfatah Islamic school Sheikh Hassan Mohamed Cukash has called on the county government to allocate funds for Madrassa teachers and Imams. The Sheikh, a graduate of Machakos institute of Higher Islamic Studies who started the first Islamic school in Wajir County has recalled the challenges he and other scholars faced running the school. He said people and those in power do not give priority to the learning of the Islamic religion. This comes a day before a fund drive led by Deputy President Dr William Ruto, Majority Leader Aden Duale among others are expected in Wajir in aid of an endowment fund for the institute.
