Mucad Ibrahim died in the New Zealand massacre and his family declared “we will miss him dearly”.
3 year old little Mucad Ibrahim was attending Friday prayers with his dad and older brother Abdi when the Christchurch terrorist stormed the Masjid Al Noor mosque on Deans Avenue and opened fire.
50 people were killed in the massacre at the two Christchurch mosques on Friday, with the child among the dead.
Three-year-old Mucad reportedly ran away from the attacker while his father and brother played dead, when the terrorist sprayed bullets on his fragile small body.
His family last night took to social media, writing: “we miss you dearly” as fears of more death continued to mount.
Older brother Abdifatah Aden Ibrahim said: “I got out as fast as I could as everyone was rushing to the door, I’ve never been scared so much in my life. Adan Ibrahim Dirie the father was also shot after visiting with his five children and nursing injuries.
“We all rushed to emergency hospital as that’s where I thought lots of our friends might be.”
The news of the dead comes as hundreds of wellwishers have laid floral tributes at local mosques in New Zealand and around the world.
More than 40 remain in hospital with critical injuries while a number are still unaccounted for, including kids.
Aussie-born Brenton Harrison Tarrant, 28, has been charged with murder and more charges are expected to be laid following the terror attack.
The shooter flashed a white power symbol as he appeared handcuffed and barefoot as Christchurch District Court.
