PPG Women Caucus Launched

The Pastrolist Parliamnetary Group (PPG)Women’s Caucus was yesterday launched at the Intercontinental ┬áHotel, Nairobi. PPG is the largest caucus in the Kenyan Parliament with a membership of 105 elected and nominated members of the national assembly and the senate across 11 political parties.

Led by the Chairperson, nominated senator Naomi Jillo of Marsabit County and PPG’s Secretary General Hon Rehema Jaldesa, Isiolo County Women Rep, the caucus was launchedto promote and prioritise pastrolist’s women’s interest in all policies and legislation in Kenya. According to a statement by the PPG’s secretariat, the launch which preceded the Pastrolist leadership Summit to be held in Garissa from the 28th to the 3rd March 2019, is aimed at the need to address the numerous challenges faced by pastrolists disproportionately affecting the female gender. The caucus has a vision of becoming a critical force for the promotion of pastrolist women working in collaboration with PPG’s overall aims and objectives said the statement.
