Isiolo County fails to budget for Ksh. 417.7 million unspent cash
Isiolo County failed to budget for the unspent cash from the FY 2017/2018. According to the Auditor General a total of Ksh. 417.7 million had not been captured in the supplementary budget of FY 2018/2019. The report which was released this week has raised serious concerns about how the County spends its fund. The report captured the County spending for the first quarter of FY 2018/2019.
According to the report in only 3 months the County spent Ksh. 14.6 million in domestic travels alone and another Kshs. 1.6 million was spent by the 18MCAs on committee sitting allowances. The County also spent a total of Kshs. 411.31 million on recurrent expenditure, which included Kshs. 351.39 million on personnel emoluments and Kshs. 59.91 million on operations and maintenance.
The data which was obtained from Isiolo County Treasury also revealed that the County had no development expenditure during the said period. The report can be obtained from the Auditor General’s website.
