Marsabit Governor calls for dismantling of the security team
The Marsabit Governor Mohamud Ali has insisted that the current security team has failed the region and has asked CS Matiangi to remove them and install a new one. The Governor has cited laxity from their side as the main reason as to why the clashes have not ended since the Horonder incident. Speaking on a local T.V station the Governor has termed the security team led by the County commissioner as being impartial and not independent. Mr. Mohamud Ali had earlier met with the security teams and other elected leaders however the Governor insists that the County Security machinery failed to implement the resolutions made.
The leaders of Marsabit led by the Governor will today meet all elected leaders from Marsabit in a round table meeting to help end the clashes which has so far taken 10 lives. The leaders were grilled in Embu yesterday after the CS ordered investigation on them following reports that there might have been politicians fueling the clashes. Gov. Ali has called for peace in the region to help him focus on developing the region.
