President Mustafa Rubbishes Claims of Torture

The Somali State of Ethiopia President H.E. Mustafa Omar has rubbished claims that former president of the region Abdi Mohamed Omar has been tortured in jail. Speaking after a meeting with ONLF officials that was to prepare for a high level meeting between Ethiopia and the freedom fighters ONLF anticipated in the coming days, the president challenged anyone to visit the former president who is currently incarcerated in an Addis Ababa jail to see for themselves that Mr Abdi has not and will not be tortured. ” The former president has not and cannot be tortured and any one can visit him in jail” said the new president. He reminded people that contrary to Mr Abdi’s modus operandi of not letting family and friends visit prisoners under his reign, his wife, mother and relatives are allowed to pay him a visit in jail.
