Liyuu Police Force will Remain In Place Says President Mustafa

The Somali State President has today absolved the Liyuu police and their leadership of most of the atrocities that have been committed over the last 27 years. He praised the security agencies for the good work they have done and maintaining peace and order. He however, reiterated the need to right the wrongs of the past and rehabilitate the bad apples within the security sector and among the leadership which he said could still be resolved amicably. The president emphasized that the philosophical ideology of the previous administration which was a foreign led ideology is what he will strive to change. He said the foreign oriented atrocities were much more destructive than the damaging actions of individuals in the previous administration.

President Mustafa continued that his administration will maintain the Liyuu police force who speak the Somali language and will remain the regional police force. He said a Somali force that speaks the local language, understanding the culture and profess a united Somali ideology is what the residents of the region support and espouse.
