Isiolo County to start demolition of buildings lying on riparian land
Isiolo County has vowed to start the demolition of buildings lying near rivers with the aim of curbing the unending floods that has been affecting most parts of the County. Speaking in Isiolo the CS for Water Mr. Simon Chergui reiterated the need to recover lands lying near rivers to ensure smooth floor of water. “We will not allow people to erect structures near rivers as it is the main cause of unending floods,” said the CS.
The County Commissioner also gave warning to those who have erected buildings on the road insisting that they will soon be flushed out. The areas that are mostly affected include Bulapesa and Kulamawe which have had so many cases of floods.
